What are Skybuds?

Skybuds are truly wireless earbuds that come with a Skydock which stores and charges your Skybuds for easy on-the-go charging.

What does "truly wireless" mean?

There are no wires connecting the earbuds to each other or to your device. Skybuds connect using Bluetooth and near-field magnetic induction.

Do Skybuds work with Siri or Google?

Yes, simply press and hold the button on either Skybud for 2 seconds to activate the service.

Can I run while wearing Skybuds?

Yes, you can. Skybuds don't fall out. They are also water resistant so don't worry about getting them sweaty. 

Can I use Skybuds for phone calls?

Yes, Skybuds can make and receive phone calls. Press the button once to answer an incoming call. Press the button twice to decline an incoming call.

What is the sound quality of Skybuds?

Skybuds use a top of the line, balanced armature driver coupled with psychoacoustic features such as bass enhancement for premium quality sound.

What is the microphone quality of Skybuds?

Skybuds use a high-grade omnidirectional microphone that has features like noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction.

Are Skybuds noise canceling?

Skybuds naturally suppress most external noise - something referred to as Passive Noise Cancellation.

Can I use Skybuds individually?

Technically, yes, Skybuds can either be used individually or as a pair. 

The "R" bud is the leader, which contains the technology needed to connect to the phone. The "L" bud is the follower, so it works by connecting to the right bud. The "L" bud is unable to function without the "R" bud, but the "R" bud can work by itself.

In terms of their physical shape, they are identical, so if you only want a bud in your left ear, you could move the bud with the "R" on it to your left ear and it will fit perfectly and function independently of the "L" bud.

Are Skybuds waterproof?

No, Skybuds are not waterproof, but they are water resistant. A little sweat won't hurt them.

How can I contact support?

During the hours of 11AM-5PM Eastern time, we are also available via live chat and telephone. When chat is online, you should see a bubble in the bottom right corner of any page on our website. PAIRING & CONNECTION

Are Skybuds compatible with any device?

Skybuds are compatible with any device that supports Bluetooth 4.0 or above.

What is the Bluetooth range of Skybuds connecting to the audio source?

The range is at least 30 meters.

What is the connection range from earbud to earbud?

The range is about 25 centimeters, so at least the size of your head.

Can Skybuds be connected to more than one device at a time?

Skybuds can only be paired with one device at a time.

To pair Skybuds to a new device, first turn off Bluetooth on the original device you connected Skybuds to. Next, simply press the button on either Skybuds 3x rapidly (think 3 pushes in 2 seconds) to put Skybuds back into pairing mode. You should hear the searching sound in your Skybuds. Now go to the Bluetooth menu on the new device, and select Skybuds Audio or Skybud R from the available devices. If no available devices show up, turn the Bluetooth on your device on and off. Now you should see Skybuds Audio or Skybud R under available devices.

As a reminder, you can only pair one set of Skybuds to a single device at a time. 

Are Skybuds compatible with tablets?

Yes, Skybuds are compatible with any device that supports Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Are Skybuds compatible with iPhones?

Yes, Skybuds are compatible with any device that supports Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Are Skybuds compatible with Android phones?

Yes, Skybuds are compatible with any device that supports Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

How do Skybuds fit into my ear?
How many different sized tips come with Skybuds?

There are 3 different tip size variations for Skybuds.

BATTERY & CHARGING

How long will Skybuds play for?

Skybuds last for 4 hours of continuous playtime with an additional 5 charges in the Skydock for on-the-go charging.

How do I charge Skybuds?

You can charge Skybuds by placing them inside the Skydock.

How long does it take to charge Skybuds?

60 minutes. The Skybuds and the Skydock can be charged simultaneously.

How many additional charges does the Skydock hold?

5 additional charges for each Skybud.

How can I check the battery level of the Skybuds or Skydock?

You can use the app to monitor your battery life for both Skybuds and the Skydock. If you press the button on the Skydock, you'll be able to get feedback on the battery life via the LED lights on the top of the Skydock.

Do I have to deplete the battery before recharging them?

You can recharge them at any point. It will not damage the battery.

What is Find My Skybuds?

Misplaced your Skybuds or Skydock? No problem! With Find My Skybuds you can easily locate them. Choose between Proximity and Location. To use Find My Skybuds you will need the latest Skybuds App AND the latest software for Skybuds version 2.5.2. Make sure you have the Skybuds app open to use the Find My Skybuds features.

What is the difference between location and proximity?
  • Proximity finder can help you track down nearby misplaced Skybuds and Skydock by using a close, near, far and very far range.
  • Location will help you identify the last known location where Skybuds and/or Skydock went out of Bluetooth range from your paired device. 
What are notifications?

Never unintentionally leave your Skybuds behind. When your Skybuds and/or Skydock go out of Bluetooth range from your paired device, you will receive a push notification to alert you. You must have the Skybuds app open to receive push notifications.

Why don’t I have Notifications or Location on my Android phone?

Find My Skybuds features Location and Notifications are coming to the Skybuds App for Android soon.

What is Awareness?

Awareness (also known as audio transparency) allows you to hear the outside world around you without having to remove your Skybuds. To use Awareness you will need the latest Skybuds App AND the latest software for Skybuds version 2.0.0 or above. This will affect your battery life of your Skybuds.

What is the difference between Active and Adaptive Awareness?
  • Active Awareness will let you hear the outside world around you while streaming audio including music, podcasts and more. 
  • Adaptive Awareness gives you the best of both worlds, letting you tune out the world while listening to audio and tune it back in when you press pause on your Skybuds or device. 
Does Awareness turn off when I put my Skybuds in the Skydock?

Yes, awareness turns off whenever you place your Skybuds in the Skydock. When you take your Skybuds out to use them, easily go to your Skybuds app to turn on Awareness to either the Active or Adaptive setting.

Can I turn on Awareness without using my Skybuds App?

Yes of course! You can turn Awareness on and off by pressing and holding the button on your Left Skybud for 1 second. When you take your Skybuds out of the Skydock and use the button to turn them on, they will be set to Active Awareness. To switch to Adaptive Awareness you will need to do this in the Skybuds app.

Does Awareness stay on when I take phone calls?

Rest assured, Awareness will shut off during phone calls and will turn back on to your last Awareness setting when you hang up the call.

Why don’t my Skybuds have the newest features?

To access Find My Skybuds, Awareness and more, make sure your Skybuds’ software is updated to 2.0.0 or above and your Skydock’s software is 1.0.7. You can download the latest software by using the Skybuds app for iOS and Android.

What are Accounts used for in the App?

Accounts help deliver you a more personalized experience and better customer service. Make sure you’re opted in to receive emails from us so you’re the first to know about new feature releases.

When will my order ship?

Please allow 2-3 business days for order processing. You will receive UPS or DHL tracking information when your order ships out. Standard shipping time varies based on location.

Can you ship to a P.O. Box or APO address?

No, unfortunately UPS is not able to deliver to P.O. Boxes or APO addresses. Please enter an alternate address at checkout.

TROUBLESHOOTING

How do I make sure I have the latest firmware installed on Skybuds?

To install the latest firmware, go to the Skybuds App in the settings menu.

How do I reset my Skybuds?

Press and hold the Skybud down for 15 seconds.

How do I successfully pair my Skybuds to the app?

To pair your Skybuds to the Skybuds app, follow the instructions on screen. You will be asked to setup an Account and to make sure your Skybuds are charged and powered on. If you have a Samsung phone, see the next question for further instructions.

Why is my Samsung phone having issues pairing to the Skybuds app?
  • If your Samsung phone is running Android M or older versions, you will need to follow the special on screen instructions to update your Skybuds. If you have any further difficulties with the update you can contact our support team or view the additional steps in this helpful document here: Samsung Phones & the Skybuds App
  • For Samsung phones running Android Nougat (7.0.0 or higher) you can skip the Critical Samsung Galaxy screens and go directly into the Skybuds app.
My Skybuds are connected to my app but I’m not hearing music?

To stream music, make phone calls and more, make sure you pair your Skybuds with your device via the Bluetooth settings. To pair to your device’s Bluetooth, rapidly press the button on the right Skybud 3x to put it into pairing mode. You will now hear a searching sound, select “Skybuds Audio” or “Skybud R” from the available devices under your Bluetooth menu. Once Skybuds are paired to your device correctly, you will hear a “success sound”.

Am I supposed to clean my Skybuds?

It’s always a great idea to lightly clean your Skybuds to keep them in the best condition. To clean your Skybuds, remove your fit tips and wipe them down with an alcohol swab making sure to clean inside the hole. You can very carefully and gently, wipe down your Skybuds with an alcohol swap making sure you’re careful not to dislodge the screen that covers the speaker on the tip of the Skybud. If you are unsure about how to clean your Skybuds, give us a shout at support@skybuds.com and we can help you out.

RETURNS

Is it possible to order a replacement part?

Yes, you can purchase a new Skydock here or an individual Skybud here.

What is the Return Policy?

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase from skybuds.com for any reason, you have 14 days from the date of receipt to request a refund. Once we’ve received the returned merchandise in good condition, your refund will be processed to the payment method used to place your order within 10 business days. You will not be reimbursed for any shipping costs.

For purchases made through one of our retail partners, please adhere to that particular retail store’s return policy.

To request a refund, please follow the steps below:

Please request a Return Authorization from our customer service team by emailing support@skybuds.com with the following information:

  • Subject line for Email: Return Skybuds
  • Name and Email
  • Order number for online purchase
  • Reason for Return
  • If available, please include pictures/video to show your reason for return.

Please note that we will not refund or exchange any product that is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. We must receive the returned item within ten (10) days after your return has been authorized. 

IMPORTANT RETURN INFORMATION

  1. To make the return, all items and accessories (including Skybuds, Skydock, charging cable, earbud tips and instructions) originally included with your purchase must be in the same condition (not physically broken or damaged) that you received them and must also be in the original packaging.
  2. Please note that failure to return all items included with your product, or returning the product without the manufacturer packaging may result in the product(s) being shipped back to you at your own expense.
  3. For domestic returns, the cost of the return shipping label will be deducted from your refund total.
  4. For international returns, you will be responsible for shipping the item to us. We will not be able to refund any international taxes or duties.

REFUND INFORMATION

Once the return is received and verified to meet all of the above conditions, please allow 10 business days from the date of receipt for the credit to appear on your account. Credit will be issued to the payment method or credit card used for your original purchase only. We will not refund original or return shipping costs or duties.

Do Skybuds come with a warranty?

Yes, Skybuds come with a standard one year warranty.
